Accustomed to working with models, Eric Marrian seeks to understand, with his new series Broken, the deeper reasons why women pose nude: need to find themselves, to excel, to manage a disappointment, revenge… The human and therapeutic dimensions are clearly defended by Marrian: to better understand these women, their stories, and better understand the strength of human nature and its propensity to learn how to regenerate and survive.
Upstream of each work session, he invited them to explain their actions in interviews (excerpts will be broadcast during the exhibition), with freedom of expression. Then came the shots. The models were invited to live their feelings and embody the symbolism of their exchanges within the workshop.
Born from meetings and signs the Broken series tells about a photographer, models and an unusual place, an old movie set of the movie Russian Dolls. All that Eric Marrian invites us to discover here today.
