The Prix Marc Ladreit de Lacharrière is supported by the “Art et Diversité” foundation created by Marc Ladreit de Lacharrière with the company FIMALAC. The prize began in 2007 and is slightly “separate”,” within the foundation, which helps a photographer “in the middle of his or her career.” The award is a grant for an exhibition in November at the French institute, and the publication of a small volume by the Revue des Deux-Mondes.
Awarded by a multidisciplinary jury, through its expertise, it fills a gap in the prizes given out by the academy to support creation, and corresponds to the creation of a “photography” section.
By the nature of its production, the holding FIMALAC, which supports the foundation, has no direct clients, and therefore it has no need for communication, only that it was missing a prize at the academy.
