Expiry
I accumulated nearly 1200 batches of expired photographic paper. The expiry dates on the labels cover each decade of the 20th century, as well as some from the end of the 19th century. These archives are a sample of the history of photographic print material and the main source of my current work. They allow me to produce prints that evoke the works of Constructivism, Abstract Expressionism and Minimalism. […] The expiry dates supply reference points about the chronological frieze of world history. I make connections between events and periods when I establish analogies between the maximum densities of the black of particular papers and an incomprehensible period.
