In the 90’s, Didier Bironneau was a photographer for the Sainte-Croix Abbey Museum, in Les Sables d’Olonne. Equipped with his Leica, he will walk the beaches of the region for almost a decade. Out of thousands of shots he will choose the best, printed on baryte paper, for an exhibition presented at the Museum of Sables d’Olonne in 2001.
Didier Bironneau offers to those who look at his images a vision with timeless, refined simplicity; the beaches suddenly become the calm spaces of relaxation of bodies and solitary gazes.
