The french fashion photographer, Marc Hispard passed away on April 25th, 2015 in Brussells (Belgium) at 77. At 15, he started to work at the professional photographic lab Pictorial Service in Paris in order to learn the bases of photography and at the same time in the evening studied at “Ecole du Louvre”. At 18, he began to work as a photographer for “Jardin des Modes”.
After his military duties he started a long collaboration with the magazine ELLE in France. In 1963 he worked in London for Queen Magazine and the British Vogue , in Rome for Italian Vogue and for Mademoiselle in New-York. In 1986, he is one of the 3 photographers who started ELLE USA. In 1988 he made the Sports IllustratedSwimsuit issue and from 1989 he contributed to Vogue for the US, Italian, French issues and Glamour.
“I am not a Writer but all I can say is that Marc was teacher, mentor, best friend, and almost like a second DAD to me. He was such a gentleman. An exceptional and super talented photographer. A real master. He had such a vision he could capture beauty in everything. I loved his style. He also had the most generous heart and was loving and kind. I will miss him tremendously.”
