The Moments / The Street Scenes
For me, photographing the streets is a process of actively observing without being noticed, it is almost like being a silent shadow; in a way, you put your identity in your pocket and become a channeler of emotions of strangers. Thanks to this voyeuristic approach I have been privileged to catch tiny little moments: a gesture or glimpse that exposes loneliness, hope, affection, joy or confusion, among other sentiments that people often try to hide from the public, or perhaps an original detail in the composition that makes an ordinary scene special. For almost two years, I have been hunting for these moments in the streets of various European cities, including Barcelona, Copenhagen, Hamburg, Lisbon, Malmö, Prague, Ohrid and Warsaw, among others. These moments, I believe, are the essence of photography.
