Fumihiko Sumitomo’s Dance on a Thin Line is being presented as part of the Daegu Photo Biennale. Sumitomo is a curator of the Beppu Art Project 2012 and the Aichi Triennale 2013 (Japan). He will become vice-curator of Japan’s Maebashi art museum when it opens in 2013.
Comprised mainly of video works, the exhibition centers on the multiplicity of perspectives that can be born from the same reality, specifically, the many points of view held by viewers of the same image. The title of the exhibition compares this feeling to the sensation one has while walking in a straight line, knowing that one could fall off to either side.
