Vince Aletti has won the 2024 AIPAD Award, recognizing individuals who have championed and contributed to the field of fine art photography. The award will be presented on April 25, the opening day of The Photography Show.
A major New York figure, Vince has been at the forefront of the city’s cultural scene since the 1970s, when he was the first writer to cover disco for Rolling Stone. He’s contributed to The New Yorker as well as The Village Voice where he also served as art editor.
His passion for photography is unmatched from his critical contributions, curation and his personal collecting of photographs printed on the pages of magazines and books since the 70s. He released his book, The Drawer, celebrating the beauty of photography and the printed page in 2022. He was one of the two featured writers of The Book of 101 Books: Seminal Photographic Books of the Twentieth Century and winner of the 2005 Infinity Award in writing from the International Center of Photography.
The photography show returns to the Park Avenue Armory in Spring 2024.
