Maia’s working process is an examination of the coincidences between our world and our imagination. Her approach is to create a universe, in its every ethereal detail, in which she plays, and puts into play the scenes that are her photographs.
Maia Flore was born in France in 1988. She currently works and lives in Paris. In 2010, the year she earned her degree from the Gobelins Visual Arts School of Paris, Maia traveled to Sweden. With the Nordic sun and the beautiful landscapes, she began her first photographic series, Sleep elevation. Her journey to Iceland, one year later, would be a precious source of inspiration for her work.
Maia’s work was displayed for the first time in February, 2011, at the Circulation(s) festival of young European photography in Paris. She is represented by the Agence Vu’. Her work was later featured at the Rencontres d’Arles in 2011. Shortly thereafter, she joined the Madé Agency. Together they participated in the Chic Art Fair and Fotofever fairs in Paris.
