The exhibition presents the work of three Berlin photographers.
As a setting a portrait of the current city (2018-2020) made up of photographs taken with a smartphone and printed by hand by Barbara Wolff (* 1951) presented this summer in the official program of the Rencontres d’Arles (FOTOHAUS).
The vintage prints of Anno Wilms (1935-2016) let us discover the transvestites of the mythical clubs of West Berlin of the 70´s as well as the dancers from the famous Lindsay Kemp ensemble. Presented this summer in the official program of the Rencontres d´Arles (FOTOHAUS).
Finally, for the first time in France, the very human and glitter-free portraits of Christian Schulz (* 1961), who has been photographing the actors, producers and directors of the “Berlinale” since 1980.
The Collection Regard is a Berlin-based private photographic collection focused on German photography, in particular that related to Berlin. Since 2005 Marc Barbey has assembled a collection of mainly black and white photographs, which ranges from the beginnings of photography to contemporary photography. He manages the estate of photographer Hein Gorny (1904-1967) and owns the most important archives of this photographer. With its archival, exhibition and gallery work, the Regard Collection deliberately acts as a place between museum and gallery.
The Collection regard is particularly keen to show interested public photographic works of great value still largely unknown that deserve our attention. The exhibitions produced, often accompanied by catalogs, are offered to other institutions to allow a wider distribution and recognition of these photographers.
