The Galerie Clémentine de la Féronnière presents an introduction to Sudanese photography, in particular through the work of two photographers who are members of the Elnour collective founded by Claude Iverné in 2003.
Rashid Mahdi (Sudan, 1923-2008) developed a unique and very sophisticated protocol for the production of studio portraits, as is illustrated by the images exhibited. The exterior portraits of Richard Lokiden Wani (South Sudan, 1974- ) offer a contemporary humanist vision of the newly independent South.
