The 6th Circulation(s) festival opens in Paris on March 26th and will run until June 26th. The Circulation(s) festival is organised by Fetart, a public interest association run by 35 volunteers, and few days ago they launched this year’s appeal for donations on the crowdfunding platform KissKissBankBank. The collection will go towards funding the 2016 Circulation(s) festival catalogue and the photo studio that will be open every weekend at Paris’s Le CentQuatre venue for the duration of the festival. People can donate as much as they like to support young European photography and there are several options available.
Circulation(s) offers a fresh perspective on Europe through the medium of photography. It is the only festival of its kind devoted to revealing young European photography talent while bringing together a network of stakeholders sharing the same ambitions as Fetart: helping young photographers get a foothold in the profession and putting innovative contemporary artistic creation in the public eye.
Since it was founded in 2011, the festival has showcased more than 250 artists and welcomed nearly 250,00 visitors. It is a springboard for young photographers and an innovative and aspiring laboratory for contemporary creativity, occupying a special place on the French and European photography scene. In fact, if we set aside the various fairs and shows, Circulation(s) is the only genuine photography festival in Paris.
The festival’s programme centers on a large exhibition featuring the work of 22 young European photographers selected, after a call for applications, by a jury of photography professionals presided by Agnès b, this year’s patron, and director of Le CentQuatre, José Manuel Gonçalves. In all, 51 photographers will present their work at exhibitions, projections and installations.
Circulation(s) also includes a number of workshops, debates and portfolio reviews as well the European Days of Photography Schools, and the Little Circulations exhibition and games for children.
