At the age of eighteen Anna Cherednikova left her home region of North Caucasus for St. Petersburg. She then lived in the Balkans, in Stockholm, in Madrid and finally in France, in Arles. Because of this perpetual migration, she had to constantly adapt to new places, dragging her roots from one city to another.
She likes this idea that the Earth is a single garden where each plant would have the same value, without hierarchy. Living in Provence, she is fascinated by weeds. They grow through stones, in places where nothing should grow. They resist strong winds and high temperatures. We try to stop them from developing, but they resist and bloom.
Anna Cherednikova was born in 1986 in Russia and lives and works in France.
