The first edition of the Circulation(s) Festival of Young European Photography is rich in meetings and rendezvous: The program welcomes numerous guests in order to federate and bring to the spotlight the initiatives launched by curators, gallery owners, festivals, groups, photography schools and even European editors… Paris’ Ecole des Gobelins showcases two young students’ series entitled “Sleep Elevations” by Maia Flore and “L’habitant des Travers” by Lise Lacombe.
The Maison du Geste et de l’Image is an artistic research and education center that allows children and teenagers to initiate themselves in the practice and the artistic reflection. The center will exhibit the works of the students of the Pierre Lescot High School under the auspices of the artist Juliette Agnel.
The collective ParisBerlin>fotogroup invites visitors to discover their Exquisite Corpse (“cadavre exquis”): this photographic “exercise” was launched through a call for projects in April 2009. A group of 47 photographers from Berlin and Paris as well as other cities around the world have also taken part in the project.
The Belgian collective Caravane will expose the documentary and social themes from 7 associated photographers.
The Gallery Café Amadeus is a young gallery in the Czech Republic (Olomouc) that opened in 2009. They will be showing the photographer Jitka Horazna’s work, “Dimanche après-midi, 2009-2010” (“Sunday afternoon 2009-2010”).
Finaly, the InFocus festival, launched in Vilnius in September 2008, will introduce us to two Lithuanian photographers, Joana Deltuvaite and Gytis Skudzinskas.
