The festival Images in Vevey chose Christian Marclay as president of the jury for his two awards: the Grand Prix Images Vevey and the Prix du Livre Images Vevey, with CHF 40,000 and CHF 10,000 respectively. Christian Marclay, whose practice is characterized by an atypical use of photography, will be accompanied by Simon Baker, curator of Art International at Tate London, Lars Boering, director of World Press Photo Amsterdam, Darius Himes, Director of the Photography Department of Christie’s, New York and Luce Lebart, Director of the Canadian Institute of Photography at the National Gallery of Canada, Ottawa. The jury will meet in Vevey from 28 to 30 April 2017 to review the pre-selected files. In the process, about 46 000 euros of grants for creation aid.
