In this series presented by Joseph Bellows Gallery, Charles Johnstone chronicles thirty four of New York City’s ubiquitous basketball courts. His love for the game, and with a nod to Ed Ruscha’s classic Thirtyfour Parking Lots, Johnstone’s photographs are straight forward and precise. His thoughtful and practiced use of color brings a subtle, but luminous glow to his images.
