He first appeared among the finalists in the 2013 Bourse Mode with ˆThe Clothes Make the Monk, Charles-Henry Bédué has been honoured this year for his detached scrutiny of the fashion world during several Parisian Fashion Weeks, titled Fuel to the Flames. This work presents itself as an exercise in style which tries to find a balance between documentary reportage and the abstract. Reading between the broken lines of the knees, the play of the hands, the facial expressions and the treatment of the clothes in the way of vanities brings a close and critical view of this effervescence of luxury and creativity.
