With this passionate itinerary in Burkina Faso, a journey she had long developed and imagined in her mind, Anne-Charlotte Marcadé discovered what she came looking for. Interested in photography at a very young age, by the dreams they provoked of traveling, and from her mother, a photographer and student of Jean Dieuzaide, Anne-Charlotte will travel the world with her camera. Her early days were innocent and far from academic: she took snapshots, amateur pictures, as if to distance herself from her professional mother. Today, she often works for a production house allowing her to capture scenes, atmospheres, she enjoys, spontaneous, natural. Influenced by the work of Walker Evans, Garry Winogrand and of course Freidlander, she began to develop her own style. Les Enfants de Bam is a French humanitarian association that fights for children’s education and health in Kongoussi, the capital of the Bam province of Burkina Faso, and one of the country’s poorest cities. Initially designed for the children of Kongoussi, the association also helps improve the city’s conditions by providing education and access to medical care. Audrey Marnay, a model, has sponsored this Association since 2009.
