HANS SILVESTER. The color of water
From the 1980s, his reports were marked by his environmental commitment. Hans Silvester is the photographer par excellence of major environmental problems: agricultural overexploitation, acid rain, deforestation, soil, air and water pollution… He denounces the ravages of deforestation in the Amazon, published in Geo magazine a long report in two parts on the Calavon river (Vaucluse – France) under the title “the murdered river”, focuses on the exploitation of the forest in North America.

With the publication of two reference books on water, a subject exhibited at Visa pour l’image in 1990, he has celebrated the beauty of nature while analyzing the threats to the planet’s natural resources.

ALAIN GUALINA Story of a stream
Today his concern is to produce a conscious Photography, with images linked together, by a reflection on our environment and the notion of landscape, “in a time when things have ceased to be close and intelligible to us”. (The bias of things – Francis Ponge)

FRANÇOIS-XAVIER EMERY Durance and Jean GIONO
For a photo exhibition on the water, in Manosque, with Jean Giono in the background, the Durance comes to mind. The writer celebrated it, especially with his new Hortense or living water. For him the Durance is vitality, it has shaped the reliefs and the life, the intrigues of the inhabitants who lived near it. A look at this great river, tamed now, with the problem of water today seems quite appropriate. Jean Giono had a contradictory but visionary approach.

CELINE DOMAS and LAURENT GAYTE Territories of water
CELINE DOMAS
“More than any element perhaps, water is a complete poetic reality. A poetics of water, despite the variety of its shows, is assured of a unity (…), the unity of the element.”
“It is by standing long enough on the iridescent surface that we will understand the price of depth”. Bachelard “Water and Dreams.
Céline leads a poetic reflection on the world around her.
Her work as a photographer, personal and intimate, is nourished, on the one hand, by her numerous travels around the world and, on the other hand, by her daily life.

LAURENT GAYTE
Trainer in the field of photography, he works for various organizations and schools. A great traveler, he takes advantage of these moments to begin a more personal photography work.
He collaborates with many magazines around the world: VSD, surf session, surfer session, stand up newspaper (USA), weekly triathlon, cycle, Grand Sud Magazine, Go Outside (Brazil) Red bull, etc… He is an Ambassador of the OM SYSTEM brand.

HENRI KARTMANN. water and people
Photographer and visual artist, lives in Haute Provence. His work seeks signs in new landscapes and the limits of “natural” space. His environmental images seek to go beyond description, almost to the level of matter.
