From October 2012 to February 2013 Milan will host the world-famous “Body Worlds” exhibition by Gunther von Hagens at Fabbrica del Vapore.
While Body Worlds offers deep insights into the human body, Prospekt agency will enact a series of photographic exhibitions, video screenings, body performances, portraits shootings, a collective art installation and photographic workshops in order to build different paths to experience the show, bridging personal perspectives to broader forms of interaction between the body and its environment, from relationships to emotions, feelings and expressions.
Participants to the workshops will work under the guidance of Samuele Pellecchia (photographer and Director of Prospekt Agency) and with the assistance of the Prospekt photographers Francesco Merlini and Edoardo Pasero.
PHOTOGRAPHIC WORKSHOPS
Four sessions will investigate the issue surrounding the human body, through an exploration of photographic representation.
The body can act as magnifier and become a cognitive filter for personal identities. This process of intimate discovery assigns new definitions to our body’s structures and shapes, placing it in a new mental and physical space, drastically close and at the same time unexpectedly distant.
Whilst immortalizing the body, a sensitive photographer can also be conscious of the brutality of the distortion created by the lens, aware of the transforming process of grain, blur, black and white, flash or scratches on film. The photographed body becomes the intermediary of emotions that the author wants to bring to the surface, forming a powerful narrative medium. An expression, a scar, a gaze, a contracted muscle -when photographed-can become a voice of a collective memory.
These workshops are designed for professional photographers, students of photography and art, artists working with photography, as well as amateurs and those interested with knowledge of photographic practice and a genuine interest in the theme of the body. Workshops will be free while accommodation will be available for a small fee.

The best works will be selected for the Carnem exhibitions at Fabbrica del Vapore and featured as PERSONAL SHOWS; while a selection of the best images will be part of the Collective Art Installation and will be projected during the screenings in the dedicated area.
