The Musée de la Pulperie is holding a retrospective of important photographs from the daily Canadian newspaper La Presse, founded in 1884. A panel of highlights from Quebec news is on display, with work by some of the biggest names in local photojournalism, including one of its leading figures, Antoine Desilets.
A little further on comes the new generation, with the work of La Presse journalists Olivier Pontbriand, Édouard Plante-Fréchette and Martin Tremblay on display. The latter is the head of the fifth edition of the Zoom Photo festival. After serving as a correspondent in different conflict zones, Tremblay took over the daily’s photo and video department. Pontbriand and Plante-Fréchette are experienced war reporters covering international news.
