Pareidolia

This series of images were taken in the Mojave Desert of So. California in the town of Yucca Valley and in Joshua Tree National Park, Since first visiting in 2012 and moving here in 2019, I would look at the boulders and rocks while taking walks and hikes, and see animated faces and forms in the shape of the rocks, shadows cast by the light depending on time of day and year, and the contours of the cracks and varnish caused by millennia of aging and weathering. Depending on the time of day and year, weather, and lighting conditions, the images you see here may or may not have appeared.
