This is the most astonishing exhibition of the week. Its author: Luc Pouliot.
A fantastic display of flies and insects!
It is shown at the Bibliothèque de Sainte-Marguerite-du-Lac-Masson in Quebec. – JJN
It was in 2017 that Luc Pouliot fell in love with macro photography of insects! By discovering all the details indistinguishable to the naked eye, the aesthetics of these strange creatures appealed to him. All these fascinating shapes and colors certainly deserved to be shared…
All the photographs in this exhibition were taken in his small garden, in the suburbs of Montreal. In addition, all these insects are part of the order Diptera (which means “two wings”) which are commonly called “flies”.
“The challenge was to take all the photos at home to show all the diversity of insects that surround us without us really paying attention to them.”
It should be noted that, in recent years, studies have demonstrated that insect populations are declining in several ecosystems on the planet. It is also in the hope of reversing this trend that the photographer presents us with these magnificent beings without whom our planet would quickly become inhospitable.
“My return to the suburbs was the trigger that pushed me to equip myself with a digital camera and get back into photography. Curious and self-taught, I tried several types of photography, but I developed a real passion for macro photography of insects.”
