They are combatants who brandish their nudity as a symbol of absolute freedom in the fight against a coercive world. Some are armed with shields which take the form of unexpected accessories: a wheel rim, a hairdryer, a rope, a skull, a stethoscope, a megaphone… Others scream, run, spread their legs, lay down, isolate themselves, or reflect. In the country, in an apartment, at sea, in a photography studio. Wherever they are, whatever they are, these women establish themselves as conscious creatures of a human condition torn between power and vulnerability. At the heart of this artistic writing, filled with the loving mastery of movement, is a mix of three themes dear to the photographer: derision, strength, and nudity. These warrior women are gathered for the first time in Bataille (Battle), an art publication whose name evokes the precious realm of letting go.
