YEAR THREE
After two years, I do know these people a little better. Another great way to understand a person better in my opinion is to meet a good friend of theirs and immortalize their relationship. Personally, I couldn’t imagine my life a single second without my friends. True friends are the ones who accept you exactly as you are. I even start thinking that I prefer their imperfections rather than their qualities… and that’s definitely also what I prefer in beauty.
YEAR FOUR
Having photographed more than 300 strangers on the street, I realized that over the years people have become less shy.
In 2009, everyone I photographed found it difficult to pose. A confused look came across their faces. I loved the innocence I saw in their eyes. I’m not sure if it’s because of social networks, the proliferation of camera phones, or simply because they’re more comfortable with me now. But over the past four years I’ve noticed a clear change in how aware people are of their appearances.
They no longer shy away from the camera. They are in complete control of their image.
