Feroz gallery directed by Julian Sander great-grandson of the german photographer August Sander presented the fourth part of the series consecrated to August Sander. On the first wall a group of family portraits as social unit,next portraits representing the intimate relationship between men and women among them portraits of friends such as artist Otto Dix and Martha Hegemann, Heinrich Hoerle and Tata and more.
On the opposite wall, a sequence of prints from the series “The Woman and the Children” displayed mothers in the various stages of their parenting role. This set of images also included a portrait of August Sander’s daughter Sigrid from 1927, titled Birthday Party. The fourth wall in the gallery was dedicated to the woman depicted in individual portraits, offering an intimate view of the difference aspects of their private and professional lives.
The four sub-groups in this exhibition consider the social role of women from different perspectives. Couples, relationship, family and individual portraits convey a modern and emancipated image of the woman of the 20th Century.
