Atul Bhalla is interested in a vital subject in India: Water. Commerce has developed in the cities to mitigate the lack of drinking water mainly due to pollution problems.
One Rupee for a Big Glass (2009) is a series of portraits of pani wallas, water merchants. They transport drinking water in portable water coolers that are sold by the glass for one rupee.
Atul Bhalla was born in 1952 in New Delhi where he lives and works.
