“I came to Chelsea in 1975 to photograph the city.
I was hired by Andrew Quigley to work at the Chelsea Record in 1977. Working at the newspaper for 12 years I exposed 20000 black and white negatives covering all facets of life.
In 1989 I moved to Lancaster PA, when I left I put my negatives in a box away from the light for the next 5 years I worked as a carpenter building barns with the old order amish community.
I began printing these images in 2011, the year I lost my mom.
Right off I realized that my love for these photos had not diminished but had in fact grown.
The people I saw every day no longer walk the streets, I have the responsibility and the honor to bring them back.
I took these photos with the passion of a young man, now 40 years later they are part of the story of Chelsea, a city I grew to love.”
