The Yancey Richardson Gallery invites this year’s viewers to be enthralled by flowers, vibrant and faded, blooming and decayed, always in their vase except for those that decided to escape. This contemporary, conceptual series by the photographer Sharon Core was inspired the tradition of floral painting. Displayed alongside these softly lit images are the green compositions of Jitka Hanzlova, the more abstract work of Kenneth Josephson, and the long-term project by Sebastio Salgado inspired by the Book of Genesis. Olivio Barbieri, Victoria Sambunaris, Bryan Graf, Rachel Perry Welty and Andrew Moore are among the dozen photographers invited the Yancey Richardson Gallery to this year’s Armory Show.
