Created at the founding of the festival, the Rencontres d’Arles Book Awards support each year with renewed fervor, the extraordinary creativity of photographic publishing, and strive to be one of the major actors for its wide dissemination.
Each award is endowed with 6,000 euros and rewards a photographic work published between June 1, 2022 and May 26, 2023 (included)
A pre-selection followed by the designation of the winning works is established by a pre-jury composed this year by Laura Morsch-Kihn, Emilie Pautus and Pierre Hourquet.
The winning publications of the three categories are announced during the opening week of the festival.
For this 2023 edition, 139 books have been shortlisted in all categories, and will be on display throughout the festival, in a venue dedicated to the various Rencontres publishing awards, at the Monoprix.
