Anne Clergue Galerie presents « Diaries », Lorenzo Castore, Ramon Masats, Oriol Maspons, Leopoldo Pomès.
Through the diary of Lorenzo Castore, born in 1973 in Florence, we find the documentary photographer with his particular sensitivity and his own language, that of intimacy without forgetting modesty. Castore tells us about his life, like a book of the dead, over seven years. The first volume, A beginning, Le commencement 1994-2001 was exhibited at the gallery in 2020. The second episode, Lack and longing 2001-2007 will be exhibited at the gallery this summer, accompanied by a publication by Éditions de l’Artiere . Castore defines his work as a literary autobiography rather than a diary, but it is poetry that takes center stage when looking at his images.
As for the three Catalan photographers, Masats, Maspons and Pomès, it will be a question of discovering images as graphic as they are refined from the depths of Spain in the 1950s with Masats.
Maspons offers us a very free stroll among the hippies of the 70s from Cadaques to Ibiza.
As for Pomés, he lingers on the architecture of Gaudi in Barcelona and lifts the veil on the muses who surround him when he changes his style and takes the path of advertising.
These three Catalan photographers astonish by the diversity of their language and subjects, three very different styles presented for the first time in France.
