What have we already become? How far can the interpretation and human use of technology take us? Are the various facets of each one destined to disappear? Can we reduce a personality and the whole of a life to a single graphic code? Do individual have to fit into the code or does the code have to adapt to the individual? Does the disappearance of the self-image lead to the abandonment of the personality? What is the share of responsibility of each of us in this change?
Through all of Carolina’s works, in their coherent whole, each of us is directly challenged.
This research and this work, started around 2015, has become with the last pandemic and all the attempts to combat it, a burning news. We are all, physical and moral persons transformed into a small openwork square. What will remain visible and understandable for each of us? These new photographic portraits offer us a slightly bitter taste of it.
