Arles 2020 day to day by Thierry Maindrault.
The “Librairie du Palais” takes its marks with a second exhibition for its first Arles summer.
The choice fell on Pascal Amoyel, a graduate of the “Ecole Nationale Supérieure de la Photographie”. This photographer focuses his attention on all specific aspects, whether geographic, historical, or cultural inside a territory. He works in a district, in a city or in a country, he focuses his attention on them. His work is open to accidents – of specific visions – which try to adapt with the photographic device.
His photograph puts reality in front the test and more it questions on the credibility of what is recorded and then stored. He tries to transform trivial situations into lyrical and delicate pictures where he arouses tensions that generate many questions.
A very graphic scenography composed of small and very small formats requires a physical approach of each work in the environment of its neighbours. And then, there is access to the exhibition which passes through this beautiful library dedicated to photography.
