Arles 2016 : Retrospective Galerie Vrais Rêves

Preview

Lyon’s Vrais Rêves gallery was founded in 1980 and every year since July 1990, it has moved into the Hôtel du Musée in Arles for the summer. The gallery has grown since its early days, affirming its artistic choices and viewpoints. Its exhibition at L’Hôtel has also grown and for the past fifteen years or so has benefited from its own hall, the Galerie de l’Hôtel du Musée, with a separate entrance to welcome photographer lovers.

For this summer’s exhibition, the 26th that Vrais Rêves has held in Arles, it will be presenting work by four artists already shown in the Lyon gallery over the year : Keiichi TAHARA (Japan), Pilar ALBAJAR & Antonio ALTARRIBA (Spain),  Vasco ASCOLINI (Italy) et Laurent CAMUT (Belgium). Four artists who all have their own clear photographic intentions and who can be split into two essential movements – sculpting with light (Tahara and Ascolini) and more embodied research into the history of art (Camut) or into literature and humour (Albajar & Altarriba).
