Here everything is finesse, respiration and amplitude and the ensemble calms you down after the distress of Robin Hammond’s vision of Zimbabwe. This exhibition results from Thibaut Cuisset‘s residency in the Camargue with the Asphodèle Association in partnership with the Tour de Valat. In prints of a rare subtlety, the Camargue landscape is rendered atypically by Cuisset. He gives it serenity, space to breath, without ever masking its complexity. The photographer even allows himself a view of the sea in which the sky and the water almost seem to melt into one another. The book reproduces the elegance of this discovery from a photographer who is clearly enchanted by his surroundings but never complacent: water, grass, footpaths and canals both cohabiting and fighting with each other.
The exhibition can be viewed at the Galerie Ulysses – Ellipse 5, rue Réattu.
