Two questions for Olivier Baussan, Vice-President of the Foundation and Founder of L’Occitane.
Why do you sponsor the Arles festival?
In choosing to become a partner of photographic creativity, we hope to show, in an echo of reality in black and white, that we are committed stakeholders in search of a different take on our region, its development and difficulties. We want to raise the general public’s awareness and sensitise it to a different take on things.
Why did you choose to support the Paulo Nozolino exhibition?
In choosing the work in black and white of photographer Paulo Nozolino (Lavender in Black and White), we were inspired by his story of lavender and its decline in our region. We wanted to highlight the creative act of the artist’s incisive gaze and the impact of visual accumulation and its supposed power to restore reality.
