Nanda Gonzague and David Richard are the founders of the artist collective Transit. Gonzague’s photography is close to documentary, and he takes part in coordinating the projects produced in the L’espace Transit gallery in Montpellier, France. His series on Armenia, entitled Hayastan, is currently on display as part of the “Promenades Photographiques de Vendôme” through September 12.
To celebrate the collective’s ten year anniversary, Gonzague and other Transit members have come to Arles to organize a rather original event. “We’ve imagined an evening of screenings accompanied by the Philharmonique de la Roquette. The gallery Magasin de Jouets will host us in its unusual space on Thursday, July 5, from 20h to midnight.” The orchestra will improvise in response to the works. Two screenings are planned: 21h to 21h30 and 22h to 22h30. The photographers will be on hand between the screenings.
Two Ulrich Lebeuf exhibitions will be on display: a kind of Canadian road movie, Alaska Highway, andTropiques du Cancer, a very intimate look into the photographer’s life.
The capacity is limited to 150 people. Reserve a place by contacting [email protected]
More Transit exhibitions can be seen the following day at the Nuit de l’Année.
