In New York, the Aperture Foundation is hosting an exhibition of the photographic prize of the Deutsche Börse Foundation. The exhibition is conceived in collaboration with the Photographer’s Gallery and the Deutsche Börse Foundation. It hosts the award-winning artists at the 2017 award, namely Sophie Calle, Awoiska van der Molen, Taiyo Onorato and Nico Krebs. The winner of the edition, Dana Lixenberg, is exhibited for the first time in the United States. The exhibition is curated by Anna Danneman (The Photographer’s Gallery).
This was the twentieth edition of the award this year. It rewards narrative as well as experimental and conceptual photography. The prize was created by the Photographer’s Gallery. Following a partnership with the Deutsche Börse Group, it changed its name. He has rewarded prestigious photographers like Juergen Teller or Rineke Dijkstre.
