This series of portraits is a post-photographic combination of collages, textures, dust, stripes, many colors, graphic elements, conceptual compositions and other interventions that transform minimal elements into complex details.
This abstract decoration gives the subjects a timelessness, an alteration in order to increase the capacity to move and captivate the gaze. To this, with a special retouching technique, I remove facial imperfections, but also the eyelashes and eyebrows to the models, as in the paintings of portraits of Renaissance women. The purpose of this effect is to emphasize the tension in the image. The eyes of each model, of each actor ‘Persona’, grab the attention of the public. Step by step the beauty of the models becomes more intriguing, imperfect, or sometimes dramatic, the portraits look at the viewer in a deeply enigmatic atmosphere and give free rein to their imagination. Nothing is lost from the elegance and distinctions of models, emotion is reinforced, portraits have much more resonance … Here the perception of feminine beauty is extracted from its classical structure, to literally embrace a form More abstract and a more innovative aestheticism.
