On the occasion of the 2019 edition of Printemps de l’Art Contemporain, the PHOTO MARSEILLE festival offers extra-festival time and invites photographer André Mérian to present his new work, Occasions at La Ville Blanche.
“During a few weeks in 2016, every day I made the gesture of recovering objects of everyday life, mostly from garbage containers near my home in Marseille or elsewhere. Using a frontal framing, clean cut, in daylight, and photographed at the same distance, I build stagings with these derisory, banal objects. I question the reality of this world, the form of its annihilation, would this world become “sculptural”? André Mérian
