Sony World Photography gave an honorary award for her photographic contribution to Candida Höfer. She will receive her award on April 19, 2018 at Somerset House (London). At the end of this ceremony, she will be exhibited among 600 other photographs from the Sony World Photography Prize.
Candida Höfer is a German photographer born in 1944. The photographer is known for her large color prints of majestic, desert, marked by the imprint of the man but without his presence. The Louvre Museum, Trinity College in Dublin or the Hermitage Museum are some of the places the artist captured.
She learned photography at Schmölz-Studio and is very much influenced by the influence of the industrial photography couple, Bernd & Hilla Becher. His work has been shown at Barbican, Tate Liverpool, Kunsthalle Bern and Basel
