On June 30th at Hotel Drouot in Paris, Christophe Joron Derem will offer 290 lots of Photographs at auction, including a rare groupe of prints by Etienne-Jules Marey, inventor of chronophotography, the collection of Sophie Imbert, comprised of prints purchased in the 1980s of Edouard Boubat, Bill Brandt, Manuel Alvarez Bravo, Robert Doisneau, André Kertesz or Jean-Loup Sieff, and four signed vintage prints by Helmut Newton including a variant of Verushcka on the terrace of Hotel Meridien, Nice, 1975.
Also on sale: A beautiful seascape (1869-1870) by Colonel Stuart Wortley, vintage prints by Sherril Schell and Berenice Abbott of 1930’s New York architectural studies, a large selection of nudes, among which a collection of prints by Irina Ionesco, the archive of RV Lebeaupain, who photographed the Parisian Gay scene in the 1980-1990s and a Peter Beard Poloraïd portrait of Andy Warhol.
