Preview

The Royal Monceau presents the Russian collective AES+F. This exhibition is the first in the permanent space in Art District, the gallery in Le Royal Monceau devoted to contemporary art.

This exhibition from the collective formed by four Muscovites, previously unseen in France, has resulted from a project that begun in 2009 The Feast of Trimalchio, inspired from the famous episode from Petronius Satiricon.

About AES+F
Created in 1987, the AES+F Collective has acquired during the last decade a large international recognition for its multiform projects combining video, photography, installation, sculpture and sometimes painting. The name “AES+F” relates to the initials of the three artist’s family names:
Tatiana Arzamasova (born in 1955), Lev Evzovich (born in 1958) and Evgeny Svyatsky (born in 1957) have all worked since the end of the 80s in different conceptual projects, mainly through installations. In 1996 they were joined by the fashion photographer Vladimir Fridkes (Born in 1956) when they decided to grant photography a preponderant place in their artistic expression. Since 1998, AES+F have increased the use of video and multimedia techniques.
