I am American photographer who lives and works in New York City. I have always been intrigued by black and white photography and have been inspired by scenes as close as my New York neighborhood and as far away as Europe. I am constantly trying to create unique photographs from familiar scenes in New York City and wherever I travel. I will have solo exhibition in Krempp Gallery in February, 2012
The Universal healing effect of music
The country is polarized, politicians fail to function, and community leaders seem to care less about their communities and more for themselves. Celebrities all too frequently express opinions on racism, homophobia or injustice without providing any real solutions. Our country is in pain.
Fortunately there is an instrument of healing, instrument of universal appeal which unites rather than divides, that instrument is music. I was lucky enough to one day experience the magic of music. It was beautiful, sunny day, a crowd had gathered at park. There were people of all ages all races all orientations. Music in form of a shared concert in which each played the instrument of their choice, but produced one work of art. While artistic questions were addressed they were also resolved and in their solution a beautiful sound was produced. Music united them …..many instruments-one song. The energy was palpable, fluid, positive and electric. If only we could solve all our problems with music.
