Abortion okay, Contraception first!
At the first demonstration to denounce “the hecatomb of clandestine abortions” and to demand the right to abortion and contraception in Paris, on November 20, 1971, there were between 5 and 10,000 people.
From the first demonstration on November 20, 1971, photographers Catherine Deudon and Janine Niepce followed the fight of thousands of women demanding the right to abortion and free contraception. On January 1, 2022, free contraception will be extended to women up to the age of 25.
One of the few bright spots where everything we thought we had gained is now threatened!
