“The poem “The Deserted House” by the British poet Lord Alfred Tennyson inspired me for my latest project of the same name. It shows a cast of young rebels with extraordinary character who found a place far away from civilization where they can express themselves without being judged by anyone.
Each of them is an individual who has no interest in sticking to the norm. The dark mood of the poem is transmitted through the scenery.”
Achim Lippoth
Born 1968 in Germany, Achim Lippoth has occupied an exceptional position for the last fifteen years, hardly any other photographer has exercised such an influence on photographs that depict or involve children as he has done. Living in Cologne, Achim Lippoth is a freelance photographer since 1992, also directing commercial videos since 1998. His works are constantly on exhibition (Galerie Paris Beijing-Paris, Shay Arye Gallery-Tel Aviv, Catherine Edelman Gallery-Chicago, Fahey/Klein Gallery-Los Angeles…) and regularly win international awards (Cannes Lions, The New York Festivals, EPICA, ADC Berlin…). In addition, Achim Lippoth is founder and editor of Kid´s wear magazine, which is published internationally since 1995 and in which he has redefined children’s fashions time after time, while simultaneously giving prominent colleagues like Martin Parr and Nan Goldin a free platform for exceptional editorial contributions.
