Aorta magazine was founded by five gentlemen who knew each other from an Internet photography forum. Five Poles with various backgrounds (IT manager, tunnel designer, two photographers and a rockstar) with a common goal – to present their photographic work to a broader audience. It soon became larger than that. Aorta’s editorial office started receiving submissions from other artists and cooperating with well-known photographers.
Today, Aorta is a non-commercial online magazine being published at the end of every second month (starting from January). The 6th issue of Aorta will be out on the 29th of March. We have managed to attract 12 internationally renowned photographers who will present various stories : documentary, portrait, fine-art and street photography. The area of photography does not matter much for us – what counts is a strong visual impact we can propose to our readers. Simply, Aorta – where picture matters
Why online one could ask. There are two reasons behind it. Firstly, because in todays digitalized world it is much easier to reach the target audience. Social networks are very resilient, allowing spreading anything in an instant. Secondly, because Aorta is a non-profit project and printed edition would require large outlays. We would like it happening one day, but the right time hasn’t come yet.
