You have been fabulous. Fabulous and nightmarish. Nightmarish because you sent as many pictures in the past five days as in the first five weeks. Many of those pictures were unfortunately not published. Fabulous because your talent and creativity were evident. Nearly 400 pictures were selected and published. They came from all horizons: two photographers from the White House, one prestigious museum director, gallery owners, critics, merchants, magazine and publishing picture editors, over 60 recognized photographers and you, our readers. A lovely crossroads, friendly and playful, with talent too. Thanks again.
Tomorrow and for the next two days we will be posting our best of, twenty of the most viewed over the past six weeks. Your selection, recorded on line. Monday, La Lettre will be back to normal. The week will be devoted to Visa pour l’Image, the International photo Festival of Perpignan. It isn’t the same kind of festival. Visa, year after year, the collective memory of a world that is not pretty.
There will be changes and new columns, an “agenda” that will become daily. There will be a weekend, inspired by your vacation pictures, devoted to you. No theme, or contest, that is not the goal of La Lettre. But if you have a project, a portfolio, a story, a collection of works you would like to share, the weekend will let you. No individual photos, but a group of 7 to 15 pictures. If selected, they will be featured on Saturday and Sunday. We will begin Saturday the 10th and Sunday the 11th of September. Voila, now it is up to you, welcome back!
