The arrival of spring 2019 invites us to organize a festive weekend to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the ARCTURUS gallery.
A party to celebrate the artists who thrilled us, to thank the clients and friends of the gallery who followed us and made a concrete commitment by choosing works to embellish their daily lives, or that of their offices, to greet the collaborators, and journalists who broadcast our choices, as well as the many daily speakers.
A party for all those who accompanied us on this wonderful adventure!
During these 20 years, during nearly 125 exhibitions on the walls of the Rue de Seine and off, all these works have awakened emotions, different impressions depending on the universe of each artist.
Some artists moved us: Gabriel SCHMITZ with his silent faces that speak subtly of a search for the truth of being; Lidia MASLLORENS through her dynamic line and the looks of her great faces revealing her love of humanity; Ivan FRANCO in the subtlety of the poses and shadows of women he draws or paints as miniatures; Marc RIBOUD who spent his life traveling the world taking with him his joie de vivre, his curiosity and his famous “instinct of the moment”.
Others made us vibrate: Thibaut de REIMPRE with the telluric profusion of colors and entanglements of lines of his paintings; YLAG with its abstract black charcoal contructions of a deep intensity that burst the white of the paper; Alejandro QUINCOCES with its urban landscapes transfigured by vibrant lights; Hervé GLOAGUEN with his photos of the greatest jazzmen of the sixties where one thinks we hear the music while looking at the photos.
Some have created poetic and dreamlike worlds: Franck DUMINIL with his abstract canvases made of superimpositions and subtle transparencies; Gottfried SALZMANN, fascinated by metropolises, transcends their verticality, the labyrinthine proliferation of buildings, the plunging views of day and night with his watercolors or his photos reworked in painting and collages; Hervé ABBADIE, who captures the surprising poetry of a form, a perspective or a shadow during the evolution of the sites; Hélène de SAINT LAGER by transforming mirrored aluminum castings into random shapes or by creating resin furniture with sparkling colors and depths; Alfons ALT who transforms photographs by brushing them to fix the pigments and creates a unique hybrid object; Marta MOREU who invents in her bronzes a figuration in balance and improbable imbalance; Peter ZUPNIK mixing the reality of photography with humor or the unusual with its delicate heels of pastel; Tim HALL who transmits the majesty of the mountain, the magic of the light on the sea, or the nobility of a lonely tree.
Others evoke enigmatic and mysterious universes: Miguel MACAYA paints in oil a dark and deep background that accentuates the power and the figurative sobriety of his characters, animals or still life; Nieves SALZMANN takes us on the road to the border between abstraction and suggested figuration opening deep and immaterial perspectives; Juliette LOSQ, creates a deep mesh that transports us to the border between the urban universe and the wilderness through a fine line, dense and firm ink and watercolor; Didier MASSARD in his landscapes made from scratch, realizes through models, photos of places he dreamed of during a solitary and dreamy childhood.
A big exhibition of 20 artists for the 20 years of the gallery not to be missed!
We will welcome you with pleasure by appointment at a time of your choice to provide you with any additional information / material you may need.
