For its 10th anniversary, the Expolaroid festival invited Parisian galleries to unveil their Polaroid collections to the public, whether vintage or contemporary.
Parisian galleries have exceptional Polaroid collections signed by great artists, but also rare forms such as 50×60 cm for very large cameras, or even Polaroid films such as the very famous “600”.
25 galleries have agreed to play the game by participating in a journey that will allow the public to acquire these unique objects, small or large, whose artists have, since Andy Warhol, invested a wide range of possibilities by manipulating chemistry during its development. , by diverting the object in plastic compositions or by moving the emulsion on alternative supports with in particular the technique of the lift.
Expolaroid is the name of a recurring photographic event: “The month of Polaroid and instant photography, launched 10 years ago in Nantes by a team of Polaroid enthusiasts.
The Nantes association still today brings together the initiatives and driving forces of the Polaroid community around the most famous medium of photographic creation.
